Hayden Merrick
Copywriter. Designer. Storyteller.
My name is Hayden, and I am an ex-student athlete who graduated from the University of Georgia. During my college years, when I wasn't throwing weapons for sport as an athlete on the track and field team, I was working towards my major in advertising and my minor in studio art. I chose those two area's of study because I knew I wanted to go into a creative field. I'll admit that graduating mid pandemic put a pin in those plans, but I am back on track and excited to continue to hone my craft.

Writing is a skill I have been developing since I was a child, and it's a career I've always been drawn to. I've had the great opportunity to work at Chemistry Agency in Atlanta, GA as one of their ally interns. During my time there, I had the chance to work under multiple talented Copywriters who showed me the ropes and allowed me to flex my creative abilities by creating copy for clients they partner with. I was also able to develop skills in Social Media Management by splitting my time between Chemistry and October Social Media.

While my strongest skill is writing and storytelling, it is not my only skill. I am a creative at heart, and any form of art used to express yourself is something I've found interest in. I took the time to learn my way around the Adobe creative suites because, at one point, I considered art direction and knew it would be useful tool to have in my back pocket. Video and Photography have always been a secret love of mine, and lately, sewing was added to my arsenal of creative skills. Of course, sewing might not be as useful in a traditional advertising setting, but you never know where your brainstorming sessions may take you.
